August 1942 cover to UK from Mrs C.H.B. Joly, Customs, Chungking, at $25.40c registered airmail rate, endorsed on the obverse " AIRMAIL VIA CALCUTTA & CAIRO TO LAGOS & THENCE BY P.A.A." Impressed with the Type R8 unit censor cachet No. 63.
A very scarce "Over the Hump" cover, as the flights over the Patkai mountains dividing India with Southern China were known.
